Anti-Racism, Equality & Diversity Policy

Nurturing a network

Diversity is at the very core of the birthly network.

We celebrate being diverse, inclusive and actively anti-racist. We believe that this is what moves the birth world forward and we are always open to fresh ideas and innovative people.

Birthly Anti-Racist, Equality and Diversity Policy

This policy reinforces our commitment to providing equality and fairness to team members and not providing less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, national origin, religion or belief, or sex and sexual orientation (under the Equality Act 2010). We are opposed to all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination.

All team members will be treated fairly and with respect.

birthly commitments:

  • To create an environment in which individual differences and the contributions of all team members are recognised and valued
  • To create a space that promotes dignity, equality and respect for every member
  • To be an, actively, anti-racist space and commit to do more to support brown and black team members and families using birthly services
  • To not tolerate any form of intimidation, bullying, or harassment, and to discipline those that breach this policy
  • To encourage anyone who feels they have been subject to discrimination to raise their concerns so we can apply corrective measures
